If people read a verse or two or more of the Bible every time they were tempted to drink/smoke/intoxicate(this includes media smut), would they get filled with the Spirit instead of spirits that want to suck the life force out of them? Would they pay more attention to their children/loved ones and have better lives? I want my life to say yes.

Hmm...

James 4:7 says "Submit to God, resist the devil and the devil must flee." So I'm listening to James or Josh McDonald and he says that trials bring us closer to God. So whether we go through a trial to grow us or whether it is because we are not submitting to Him and are dishonoring Him; the way to get out out of it and feel peace is to submit to God and do things His way which is the right way anyway.
